Separate the components
Because the outer film,cardboard core or box,and used tissue or towel are different waste components. A recyclable cardboard tube does not make used kitchen towel suitable for the same recycling container. Cornwall Council,for example,lists kitchen roll outside its recycling collection while accepting the inner cardboard tube through its specified cardboard route.
Use the selected packaging statement
The selected Andrex page distinguishes cardboard recycling from film collection with bags at larger supermarkets,and says not to recycle that film at home. Its 30% recycled-plastic statement concerns the packaging material; it does not say the toilet tissue contains 30% recycled fibre or that every local collection accepts the film.
Check local collection
Recycle Now describes out-of-home collection points for suitable plastic bags and wrapping and includes toilet-roll wrapping among examples. Acceptance still depends on the collection point and material. Check the actual current wrapper and nearby location before travelling; do not treat a national guide as proof that an unspecified shop bin takes every film.
Do not promote a whole-pack guarantee
Keep used paper disposal separate from packaging recovery. If a card box has another component,look for its own instructions rather than assuming the entire box belongs in one stream.
